R.I.P. Paul. 💔 Yesterday afternoon, Paul’s spirit left his body during his afternoon nap in our bed. We found him right after it happened and gave him some final snuggles and shed a lot of tears as we said goodbye. I cried all night and am still crying today. Paul was my best friend for 16 years and my closest companion for my entire adult life. We saw so many different iterations of each other and loved each other through so many stages of life. Paul was my spirit animal, my soul mate, my feline twin flame. Even though I am so gutted and heartbroken, I’m also drenched in so much gratitude for having Paul in my life for so long. He taught me how to be present in the current moment, how to be sassy and sweet at the same time, and that life is always better with snuggles. I will miss this guy in a special kind of way. The house is so empty and quiet without him. Thank you, Paul, for being my best friend. I hope our energies meet again in some other reality or lifetime. I’m sure that they will. I love you, sweet cat.

Freel Peak! Chasing the last of the snow and bagging the biggest peak in Tahoe! I highly recommend this adventure if you love bush whacking while simultaneously carrying your skis over your shoulder and post holing, skiing into streams and falling off snow bridges, skiing on dirt, carrying heavy packs to camp in a beautiful meadow under a sky of stars, catching the last of the corn before it turns to mashed potatoes, and generally laughing at the frustration that backcountry skiing sometimes brings with your favorite person in the world. It’s a good one! I swear. Thanks for being the best partner in adventures and in life @toddlesnbits. Our weekends are what I live for!
